Timberline Lodge Road Conditions

Timberline Lodge sits at 5,960 feet on the south flank of Mt Hood, reached by US 26 to Government Camp and then the 6 mile Timberline Highway climb. The road status that decides the trip is the Government Camp status, live at the top of this page; the last 6 miles add roughly 2,000 feet of elevation and their own weather on top of it.

On storm days the Timberline road is one of the first access roads in Oregon to go to a chains requirement, and the lodge lot fills early on powder mornings. Check the corridor cameras below before you leave Portland; if the village segment is already queued, the access road will not be faster.
